Kiwi Ingenuity Strikes Again With Creation of Tactile iPad Case

Kiwi Ingenuity Strikes Again With Creation of Tactile iPad Case

A US-based kiwi called Mark is hoping to raise $240,000 through crowd-funding site Kickstarter to bring his new iPad case for gamers to the world.

To put that in perspective, $240K in Auckland will get you a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom unit in Papakura or a 1 bedroom apartment in Takapuna. If you’re in the capital, that sort of cash can get you a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house in Otaki Beach, or if you’re further down south, a 1,500m2 section of land in the Wakatipu Basin in Otago.

So what does $240,000 get you stateside? That sort of serious $ will fund the building of hardware development kits based on the current design, and enable this kiwi to make his dream come true.

The pledges are rolling in, with the team already totalling $21,703 from 276 backers. It’s a minimum $1 pledge, and they hope if they raise the cash and go into production, to sell the iPad gaming console/covers for about US$100 each.
