Who Needs FaceBook's Poke When You Have Twitter's Vine?

vine-app-screenshots Twitter's new Vine app has been a popular download this week, and with its easy functionality and simple 6 second clips it's easy to see why.The app allows you to film a quick mini-clip that loops endlessly (like a GIF). It's fun, it's quick and it's quirky. Facebook have released a similar app called Poke, which allows you to film a mini-clip and send it to a friend in your Facebook friends list as a movie-poke (you can poke your friend though various means in the app) but it doesn't have the openness that Vine has. When you download Vine, it syncs instantly with your Twitter account, brining all your information over it. You can then search easily and add friends, find Vines you like and comment on them. It does seem a lot like Instagram, but with moving pictures.Like I said it's fun, it's light and it's easy to use. It will be interesting to see where the app goes, and which celebs will first capitalise on it. Have you downloaded the app? What do you think about it?
