Social Media NZ Weekly Wrap-Up 10/01/2011

Happy New Year! We're back to regular posting and are very excited about the developments in the works, especially our long awaited endorsed consultants page. The lovely Jill Clarke will also be back next week for her regular Social-Lite wrap up video, so stay tuned.This week: 1) It's all about CES [Consumer Electric Show] where technology companies clash heads to see who has THE gadget of 2011 and to spot new trends.2) Apple launched their much anticipated Mac App Store preloaded with more than a thousand ready-to-use apps. Users will be able to get their hands on favorites like Angry Birds and Twitter for Mac app, and iLife 11 and iwork 11 products can be upgraded direct from the App store.3) Twitter was sucked into the Wikileaks spiderweb - the U.S government has asked the microblogging site to hand over all details about Wikileaks to the U.S. authority.Rhythm and Vines Series:During the break we had the opportunity to attend "Rhythm and Vines", one of New Zealand's biggest music events. Watch out for our series of posts covering the event's social media presence and why we think it could help pave the way for more New Zealanders to embrace social media.
