BREAKING: Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been Arrested. [Updated]

Controversial figure and founder of Wikileaks Julian Assange have been confirmed by scotland yard and world news sources that he has been arrested in England on a Swedish warrant. The arrest happened at 9:30am, that would be 10:30pm New Zealand timeThe arrest is not related to Assange's alleged sex charge in sweden or about his with Wikileaks, but what we know is Assange will be appearing at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court later today where we will further hear what charges the court will file against Assange. This is a tricky situation because Julian Assange being an Australian it would only be logical that he is put on the first flight to Australia as soon as possible but because the US has been particularly effected by the leaks more than others, the US has an interest in him as well. It would be interesting to see if Julian Assange gets handed over to US authorities. This arrest could also mean the potential released of new documents called the "doomsday file" which are uncensored documents of BP and Guantanamo Bay. Mr Assange has warned authorities of this particular file if any actions were to be taken against him.Update: An interview by the Associated Press with Wikileaks spokesman by Kristinn Hrafnsson told the news agency that this arrest would not derail the release of the cables, and this will not change our (Wikileaks) operation. It makes you wonder how many confidential documents Wikileaks still have in their possession, It's like taking a pick from a range of missiles and finding the right time to launch it into the interwebs.Update 1:02 am: One of Twitterers pointed out Wikileaks has a total of 251,287 confidential documents and 960 of those are published.  Tweet from @marniemacdonald.Update 8:00 am: Julian Assange will be held in custody until the 14th of December as he has been denied bail by the London court. And also adding towards what we missed out on is, Julian Assange handed himself into the english authorities, which could mean one thin, reduced punishment. This arrest is not related to anything Wikileaks but more about his sex rape case in sweden, In a Wikileaks update from Techcrunch, Swedish prosecutor Marianne Ny has told a press conference that the “sexual misconduct case” against Assange has nothing to do WikiLeaks or his work releasing secret US diplomatic cables. Well, that is not surprising because Julian Assange would have gone against what he believed in, if he had turned himself in for what he's done at Wikileaks.
